What makes flow computations without Fluidator™ so complex?
Computational fluid dynamics is important for all machinery interacting with fluids such as air, water, oil and gases. The methods in current use – finite element (FEM) or finite difference (FDM) schemes – must generate complex grids. This generation binds substantial computational resources and creates significant problems in computing non-steady-state flows. The solution of the differential equations on this grid also require expensive iterative methods. In contrast, we claim that fluids are born free and not forever in grids!

What is new about Fluidator™?
Fluidator™ by algorithmica technologies is based upon a radically new and unique solution: The fluid is discretized into a set of particles. The simulation proceeds with pair-wise interactions of these particles by first principles. Computations are done via an O(N) algorithm. This means that the calculation time of the algorithm is linearly proportional to the number of particles. This achieves a tremendous acceleration of the calculation – and cubic at that!

The method is also completely grid-free. You can compute with the same accuracy as you are used to with FEM or FDM. Due to the absence of a grid, the method suffers from none of the inherent problems of grid generation. The result is a much more flexible and versatile tool that offers you possibilities unattainable by grid-based methods
