OMEN

Imagine that you are the operator of a complex production plant and can adjust several hundred parameters on this plant. What are the best values? Of course, the best values depend on the external world - on the weather and on the market. A human being cannot solve this complexity to optimality.

We have developed a computer program that learns the process automatically using state-of-the-art machine learning methods. The program, OMEN, can then tell you how this process can be adjusted in the best possible way at any time. OMEN is used by the operators in real-time in the control room of the plant. Now the plant can reach is maximum possible yield.

OMEN works purley on the basis of measured data from instrumentation around the plant and does not need any human input. This means that it is easy and simple to use and requires little to no time from the user to operate.

Doing such an optimization automatically is new. Until now, any improvement required significant human intelligence and human effort. As the effort requires time and money and generally does not produce the best possible outcome - in a system so complex as an entire plant - OMEN is a real revolution.

In total, OMEN can improve yield by 5 - 10% over current yield. This has been achied in chemical and power plants but OMEN can be used in any production facility. Due to the financial value of this yield increase, OMEN usually generates a return-on-investment within one quarter. As OMEN achieves its results purely by computation and operations advice, there is no need for any capital investment in the plant. Therefore, it is fast, simple and without great costs.
